Girls basketball sub-regional: No. 7 Fairfield 52, Mortimer Jordan 31

FAIRFIELD — Center Megan Snow had 11 blocked shots and nine rebounds, but it wasn't enough to hold back seventh-ranked Fairfield, which routed visiting Mortimer Jordan 52-31 in a Class 5A sub-regional playoff girls basketball game Thursday.

Alysa Amberson led the Blue Devils with 14 points with a pair of 3-pointers, plus five rebounds and three steals. But she was the only Jordan player even close to double digits in the scorebook. Outside threat Sarah Rickles was also out of the game because of illness.

Ashley Rodgers led the Purple Tigers with 18 points, Kyla Brooks had 11 and Jayla Morrow scored 10.

The Devils finish their first season under coach Kelsey Treadaway with a 10-16 record.
