JASPER — Another game, another double-double for center Katie Parr, who led Hayden to a 57-44 win at Curry in Class 5A Area 14 girls basketball play Friday.
Parr knocked down 17 points and nabbed 24 rebounds, as well as collecting five steals.
The teams stayed even through much of the first half, until the Wildcats went on a quick 5-0 run to take the lead for good at halftime. Hayden stayed in front despite six 3-point shots from the Jackets, who stayed in shouting distance until the last moments of the contest.
Evin Bibb recorded 14 points and six rebounds.
Ella Banks scored 12 points for Curry (1-10, 0-2 area), all on treys; Ashlee Swindle also had 12 points.
If the weather cooperates, the Wildcats — now with a 13-4 record and 4-0 in the area, and winners of five straight — will play Monday at Appalachian.
