Girls basketball playoffs: Jordan beats #8 Hayden, Gardendale falls to Mountain Brook
— Haylie McCleney scored 26 points to lead Mortimer Jordan past eighth-ranked Hayden 55-49 in the semifinals of the Class 5A Area 11 Girls Tournament at Erwin Thursday night.
Brianna Nation scored 19 points, and Peyton Davis added 10 plus 14 rebounds and six blocked shots for Jordan. Krista Stricklin led Hayden with 20 points, and Tiffany Myrick had 11 points and 10 rebounds.
In Class 6A Area 12, host Mountain Brook took care of Gardendale by a 56-38 score. Haley Hardman led the Rockets with 16 points and eight rebounds.
