CULLMAN — A 13-0 run by Hayden early in the fourth quarter erased a deficit and propelled the Wildcats to a 46-41 win at Good Hope in Thursday girls basketball action.
The Raiders opened the game by scoring the first seven points, but Hayden fought back to cut the lead to two points at halftime. Good Hope pulled away again to start the second half, before the Cats went on their game-winning run.
Grayson Taylor led Hayden with 23 points; she was 3-for-6 from outside the 3-point arc. Evin Bibb scored 10 points, and Katie Parr puled down 15 rebounds, had seven steals and scoed six points.
Kayla Tillman led all scorers with 28 points, with four treays, for the Raiders.
The Wildcats (20-5), winners of their last 10 games, close out the reguilar season with three straight home games. They host Cleveland on Friday, Hanceville on Monday and Corner on Tuesday. They host the Class 5A Area 14 tournament beginning next Thursday, facing Curry in the first round. (Mortimer Jordan plays Walker in the other first-round game.)
