HUEYTOWN — Marcus Merriweather led all scorers with 22 points for Pinson Valley, but it wasn't enough as the Indians fell 53-49 to Center Point in the large-school winner's bracket semifinal game of the Jefferson County Boys Basketball Tournament.
Jeffrey Hodge scored 19 points for the Eagles, who pulled away from a 35-35 tie after three quarters. Treveon Davis added 11 points.
Johnathan Marable had 10 points for Pinson Valley, who will take on Minor in the third-place game Saturday. The Tigers lost their semifinal in overtime to Clay-Chalkville, who will play Center Point in the championship.
