The Bragg Middle School boys golf team captured the Jefferson County Schools Championship title last Thursday at their home course, Castle Pines Country Club.
It's the third title for the Rockets in the last four years; they placed second last year.
Alex McGinty, Nick Marinakis, Clayton Chapman, and Brent Harris played for the championship team. Other members of the team included Austin Anderson, Luke Green, Jon-Halston Hill, Kyle Hawkins, Korey Jones, and Stephen Peacock. Larry White is the coach.
Garret Johnson of North Jefferson Middle was the medalist for the tournament, scoring a 3-over-par 39 over nine holes. He was joined on the all-county team by Marinakis, plus brothers Taylor and Tyler Simmons of Hueytown Middle.
"I'd like to give special thanks to Dewey Barber, John Ray and the entire staff at Castle Pines for hosting this tournament," White said.
