PINSON — Pinson Valley has won its fourth straight sectional championship, thanks to a 2-1 victory Monday night over visiting Walker. But it didn't come easy.
The match was tied at 1-1 until three minutes remained, when Ramon Cupido's huge header off a crossing pass from Hector Lucatero found the back of the net.
The Vikings struck early, scoring their lone goal in the second minute from way outside the penalty area. But the Indians responded just 40 seconds later when Dorian del Toro scored.
Pinson Valley (11-4-1, 5-0 section) finishes off the regular season with two matches at home this week. They play Moody on Tuesday and John Carroll Catholic on Thursday.
