Boys basketball: Mortimer Jordan 49, Oneonta 37

PLEASANT GROVE — Brandon Spears came off the bench to take on opposing big man Steadman Bothwell, helping push Mortimer Jordan past Oneonta by a 49-37 score in Tuesday boys basketball play.

Spears was 5-for-5 from the field for 10 points, and grabbed seven rebounds for the Blue Devils (10-1). Ben Hardiman added 10 points, five rebounds and five blocked shots.

Bothwell scored 10 for the Redskins before fouling out in the fourth quarter.

Jordan opens play in the Corner Christmas Tournament on Thursday evening at 5 p.m., as they take on Marion County in the first round.
