COTTONDALE — Caleb Lindsey connected on a 74-yard pass to Tristan Castro with four seconds left, as Tabernacle Christian won an important 40-34 road victory in Christian Football Association eight-man play Friday.

It was the second touchdown pass between the two in the game. Earlier, Lindsey found Castro on a 95-yard scoring play, in what is believed to be the longest touchdown pass in Torches history. (Eight-man football is normally played on an 80-by-40-yard field, but Tuscaloosa Christian uses a full-size field.)

Lindsey had one of the biggest passing games of his career, throwing 12 completions in 28 attempts for 326 yards and four touchdowns. Castro, just coming off an injury, caught eight of them for 292 yards. Lindsey also had three interceptions, and ran for another score.

The Warriors were down 20-12 at halftime, but came back to tie the game at 34-34 late in the fourth.

Tabernacle (3-3, 1-1 CFA) travels to New Life Christian in Millbrook next week.
