Girls basketball: Hayden 49, Corner 35

HAYDEN —

Corner’s girls were upset-minded at Hayden Tuesday, as they took an early lead in the teams’ regular-season finale. But the Wildcats came back, eventually rolling to a 49-35 victory.

Grayson Taylor had the best night of her career so far, knocking down five 3-pointers in the first half on her way to 31 points. She also tallied six rebounds and five assists.

Katie Parr added nine points, 13 rebounds, eight steals and three blocks.

The Yellow jackets were paced by Avery Wakefield with 13 points.

Hayden hosts the Class 5A Area 14 tournament starting Friday, as they play Curry at 7:30 p.m. Corner travels to Carbon Hill for the Class 4A Area 8 tourney, where they face Dora at 7.
