Blount County Tournament: Locust Fork 57, Hayden 34

CLEVELAND, Ala. — Hayden hung tough with Locust Fork for one quarter — but the the Hornets just ran away.

After a 13-13 tie after eight minutes, the Wildcats were completely shut out as Locust Fork scored 15 unanswered points, as they rolled to a 57-34 victory in the boys' semifinals of the Blount County Tournament at Cleveland.

The Hornets turned up the pressure in the second quarter, and forced 10 Wildcat turnovers.

Kyle Hornbuckle led the way with 17 points for the Hornets. Dillon Burton added 15 points and Clay Smith 14.

Duncan Parker had 12 points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots for Hayden.

Locust Fork advances to the championship game Saturday night, where they will face the winner of Friday's semifinal game between J.B. Pennington and Cleveland.
