CORNER — Mortimer Jordan advanced to championship game of the Corner Christmas boys basketball tournament with a 68-37 victory over Hanceville Friday night.
The Blue Devils survived a turnover-plagued first half to take a 25-15 halftime lead, largely on the backs of Seth Barnett's 11 first-half points and a pair of treys from Orion Recke. The Devils woke up after halftime with a 19-10 third-quarter run that included three triples from forward Ben Hardiman
Barnett led all scorers with 17 for the game. Hardiman combined 13 points with 11 rebounds and five blocks. Point guard Mark Louis added 11 points.
Brontae Harris led the Bulldogs (8-5) with 16 points.

Vinemont 60, Hayden 38: A hot shooting night from the field, plus 15 turnovers by the Wildcats in the second half, contributed to Hayden's demise in a consolation-bracket semifinal.
Vinemont held a slim three-point advantage at halftime, but hit 63 percent from the field from that point on to pull away.
Eagles guard Lance Stanley was good from outside the 3-point line for the second straight night, connecting on four treys in five attempts. He led Vinemont with 20 points, while Duncan Hopper added 11.
