HUFFMAN — Gardendale jumped out to a 15-4 lead after the first quarterand never looked back, as they defeated Huffman 47-34 in a Class 6A area girls basketball game Thursday.
Chelsey Deloney led the Rockets with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Mallorie Corbin and Caroline Casaday added eight points each for Gardendale (9-1, 2-0 area).
Shaforia Kines scored 11 points and Asia Moore had ninr for the Vikings (4-4, 0-1 area)
The Rockets are off until next Thursday, when they play in the Mitch Smith Classic at Athens.
