GARDENDALE — Carrigan Fain has signed on the dotted line.
Before friends, relatives, teammates and coaches, the Gardendale catcher/infielder signed a national letter of intent with the University of Alabama.
The ceremony took place Wednesday night at the Gardendale Civic Center.
Fain had been on Crimson Tide coach Pat Murphy's radar for sometime, and Fain wasted no time in verbally committing to Bama about a year ago.
Fain will be the third local player to join the Tide roster. She's preceded by junior shortstop Danae Hays and sophomore center fielder Haylie McCleney, both alumnae of Mortimer Jordan. It will be the first known time that three players from north Jefferson County have been on the roster of a single four-year college team.
