Gardendale pro bass angler Randall Tharp finished second in the final FLW Tour Open event of the season at Sam Rayburn Reservoir in Texas.
Tharp hauled in 20 bass weighing 47 pounds, 9 ounces over four days. It wasn’t even close to winner Phil Marks, though, who hauled in a whopping 32-12 on the final day alone to win by more than 16 pounds, the third-largest winning margin in FLW history (Tharp set the record earlier this year).
Tharp won $10,543, bringing his total in Opens to $145,433 for the year. Coupled with $46,023 won in Tour Majors, his earnings for 2012 total $191,456.
Tharp also finished 10th in Opens points standings.
