KIMBERLY — Hayden had double-double nights from Chris Whitt and Duncan Parker, as they scored a mild upset on the road with a 65-55 win over Mortimer Jordan in Class 5A Area 14 boys basketball Friday.

The Wildcats jumped out to the lead in the second quarter, leading by as many as 10 points in the first half, and never gave up the advantage despite several close calls by the Blue Devils.

Whitt totaled 19 points, 10 rebounds, four blocked shots and three steals for Hayden. Parker had 12 rebounds, 11 points and five blocks. Leonard Johnson also scored 19 and Dylan Bradford 13 for the Cats.

Dalton Hudson led the Devils with 17 points, and Austin Merritt scored 14.

Hayden (6-9, 3-2 area) plays at Walker on Tuesday night to close out area play. Jordan (7-8, 2-2) plays at Pleasant Grove that same night.
