Boys basketball: Locust Fork 55, Hayden 25

LOCUST FORK — A rash of Hayden turnovers in the first half, followed by hot shooting by Locust Fork in the second led to a 55-25 mercy-rule win by the Hornets in Monday-night boys basketball action.

Locust Fork finished off the first half with a 10-0 run to take a 28-9 lead into the break, and coasted through the second half.

Todd Goodwin led Locust Fork with 19 points plus six steals. Andrew Lanningham and Kyle Hornbuckle added nine points each.

Chris Whitt and Leonard Johnson each had six points and six rebounds for the Wildcats.

Hayden (3-7) hosts West Point on Tuesday, while Locust Fork (7-6) goes to Guntersville.
