Girls basketball: Hayden 63, Locust Fork 57

HAYDEN — Seven players overall scored in double figures, as Hayden defeated neighboring Locust Fork 63-57 in Thursday night girls basketball action.

The Hornets opened the contest with a 3-point lead after the first period, but the Wildcats jumped back in front with a quick 6-0 run, and never relinquished the lead as they handed Locust Fork their first loss.

Brooke Meadows led all scorers with 19 points with three 3-pointers plus four assists for Hayden. Sharley Miller scored 15 points with three treys, Katie Parr had 13 points with 15 rebounds, and Evin Bibb added 11 points.

Kasi McMillan scored 13 points, Jamie Gail Hudson had 11 points and 14 rebounds, and Kimberly Horton scored 10 for the Hornets (2-1).

Both teams hot the road Friday night, as Locust Fork travels to Susan Moore while Hayden goes to J.B. Pennington.
