Time to brace ourselves for another round of severe weather.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for most of north and central Alabama, including all of metro Birmingham. The watch is in effect until 6 p.m.
At 11:15 a.m., NEXRAD radar showed a line of storms moving into west Alabama, stretching from Florence southward to Demopolis. Additional storms sells were forming ahead of that line from Decatur down to Bessemer.
Some storms in south Mississippi near Hatiesburg have already resulted in tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings.
The atmospheric conditions are favorable for the formation of severe weather, including tornadoes perhaps later in the day - a setup more often found in spring, but rarely in summer.
We'll keep an eye on the situation throughout the day.
