FULTONDALE — The city of Fultondale honored the men, women and children who fell victim to terrorists on 9-11, as well as survivors, during a ceremony on Wednesday.
Col. Robert Barefield, who is retired from the U.S. Army, was the guest speaker.
Charlie D. Waldrep presented the 9-11 memorial, and Amy Knight sang the national anthem. The Fultondale High School band played "The Star Spangled Banner" and "God Bless America."
Mayor Jim Lowery said the city plans to place four more large flags along Interstate 65 to accompany the one that is there now. He said all of the flags will be to memorialize different wars and events in American history.
