FULTONDALE — The Fultondale City Council on Monday approved local matching funds in the amount of $1,343.46 for ClasTran for the fiscal year Oct. 1, 2013 to Sept. 30, 2014.
Council member Darrell Hubbert said ClasTran is important because many Fultondale citizens use the service to go to the doctor and to other appointments.
In other business, the council authorized Mayor Jim Lowery to enter into a renewal agreement with the Jefferson County Office of Senior Citizen Services for the Fultondale and Mt. Olive senior programs for the fiscal year Oct. 1, 2012 to Sept. 30, 2014.
Lowery said the city serves as an agency for the Mt. Olive senior center to receive county funds, because Mt. Olive is not a municipality. He added that the Mt. Olive center does not receive funds directly from the city of Fultondale.
