Hope your Thursday is getting off to a good start...

Weather: Blustery. Today will be a day fit for neither man nor beast, with rain throughout the day, wind and chilly temperatures. Highs will be stuck in the middle 40s with winds from 10 to 15 miles per hour. Rain continues tonight with lows in the upper 30s. Friday will be mostly cloudy with rain ending, and highs in the middle 50s.

Big drug bust catches Morris resident. Matthew McGaha, 32, was arrested with two other men during a raid on a house on Birmingport Road in Mulga, as part of a four-month investigation into drug trafficking by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. McGaha and the others are charged with trafficking in “ice,” or crystal meth, along with heroin. Investigators said more than 500 individual doses of heroin were found in the raid. The trio was alleged to have worked with a major supplier in Atlanta, who is now being hunted. McGaha is free on $50,000 bond; the other two suspects remain in jail.

Sports: Indians through to the county finals. Pinson Valley came from behind to edged Mortimer Jordan 5-3 in the last day of pool play in the Jefferson County Schools Baseball Tournament. The Indians will host McAdory in a semifinal game on Friday. Elsewhere, Gardendale rolled over Minor 14-1 in six innings, and Corner fell to Pleasant Grove 7-5. The Rockets and Jackets will host games in the fifth-place bracket Friday.
