Monday again, make the best of it...
Weather: Great today, not tomorrow. We'll have a gorgeous day today with sunny skies and a high in the lower 80s, with clear skies tonight and a low in the lower 60s. Showers and thunderstorms roll in Tuesday afternoon.
Kenya mall massacre linked to Al-Qaeda. Police say that at least 68 people have died at the hands of gunmen linked to the terrorist organization. Attackers stormed the mall in Nairobi on Sunday, and they still have not been captured, Bloomberg News reports. No word on how many of the dozen or so gunmen are still loose in the mall, or how many hostages remain; police are trying to rescue them and round up the attackers this morning.
Sports: Braves clinch at last. It took a little longer than planned, but Atlanta finally wrapped up the National League East Division title on Sunday, as they defeated the Cubs 5-2 at Wrigley Field. Andrelton Simmons hit two homers for the Braves, who now will try to wrap up the top seed in the playoffs by securing the best record in the league... Football: The Atlanta Falcons led most of the way, but Miami came back with a touchdown pass from Ryan Tannehill to Dion Sims with 38 seconds left to win 27-23 on Sunday. Elsewhere, the Tennessee Titans cut it even closer, as it took a 34-yard TD pass from Jake Locker to Justin Hunter with 15 seconds to go to pull out a 20-17 comeback win over the Chargers... NASCAR: Matt Kenseth extended his lead in the Chase for the Cup points standings, as he won his second Chase race at the Sylvania 300 in New Hampshire. It's his seventh checkered flag of the year, and gives him a 14-point lead over Kyle Busch... Soccer: The English have something pretty close to our Alabama-Auburn rivalry. It's called the Manchester Derby, and the latest edition saw Manchester City rout Manchester United 4-1 on Sunday. The two teams account for the last three national championships (sound familiar?). Unlike the Iron Bowl, these two teams will play each other again later in the season.
