MORRIS —
Jefferson County Sheriff's Office detectives have identified the man who was struck by a train in Morris Friday night.
The victim was Gregory McMillin, 34, of Morris, according to Chief Deputy Randy Christian.
Just after 9:30 p.m. Friday, deputies were called to a railroad crossing on Morris-Majestic Road to investigate a report of a person being struck by a train.
Deputies learned that a man was seen on the track and appeared to ignore the train horn. A search was conducted and the body of a man was discovered along the tracks at about 10:45 pm.
It was not immediately clear why the man was on the tracks.
