Body found near railroad crossing on Morris Majestic Road

MORRIS — The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says that a body has been found along CSX railroad tracks near Morris.

Chief Deputy Randy Christian said that CSX notified them that a freight train may have hit a pedestrian near the Morris Majestic Road railroad crossing. The railroad reported the incident around 9:30 p.m. Friday.

Deputies and police from Warrior and Palmerdale responded to the scene, where the body of a white male in his late 20s to early 30s was found along the tracks north of the crossing.

The victim's identity has not been realeased.
