Update: Missing man located in Gardendale

GARDENDALE — Gardendale Police Chief Mike Walker said a man reported missing on Monday has been found and was not harmed or injured.

Rodney Keith Smith, 45, reportedly went into the woods near Quail Ridge Road, north of Castle Pines, to locate ginseng roots. He was reported missing after he did not return.

Smith was found near Castle Pines Golf Club. He was wearing camouflage clothing, which made the search for him more difficult in the wooded area, according to Walker.
