NORTH JEFFERSON —
Happy Monday morning ...
Weather: Temperatures are dropping some, with today’s high at 92 degrees and the low at 74. Look for some rain later in the week that could result in flooding.
Traffic: Officials have released no construction plans that should impede interstates and highways in north Jefferson. Should be a smooth ride.
Locally: A Warrior man is hosting a treadmill walk-a-thon on Wednesday at Gloval Fitness and Tanning as a fund-raiser for Warrior’s public library. Chris Sloan will run on a treadmill for at least six hours, nonstop. He invites others to join him on other treadmills for 20 minutes at a time with a $10 donation.
Downtown: Birmingham is a week into its fiscal year with no operating budget. The Birmingham City Council meets Tuesday to consider two different plans, but neither side is expected to have enough votes to pass a budget.
