NORTH JEFFERSON — Good morning on this beautiful Friday ....

Traffic: No major construction is scheduled for today or this weekend in the north Jefferson area

Weather: Highs today will be in the high 90s, with a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms and showers this afternoon. Also look for storms Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Locally: The Gardendale Beautification Commission has announced the winners in its annual beautification contest. Also, Shannon Davis, a local cancer survivor, is running a half marathon as a fund-raiser for the American Cancer Society. Keep an eye here and in the NJN print edition for more on these stories.
