NORTH JEFFERSON —
Good morning on this hot Thursday.
Weather: Speaking of the heat, the wave continues today with the high at 100 degrees. There is still no moisture in the forecast for the next couple of days, so use caution and check on friends, family and animals.
Traffic: There is no construction planned that should impede traffic in north Jefferson today.
Hats in the ring: The time to qualify is nearing. Residents of various municipalities can qualify to run for public office July 3-17 at their city halls. Keep an eye out here and in next week’s paper edition of the NJN for more details, including fees.
Effect on Alabama? The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals is asking Alabama, plaintiffs and the U.S. Justice Department to file briefs by July 6 on how the Supreme Court’s decision about Arizona’s immigration law will affect Alabama.
