WARRIOR NEWS — Garden tip: The best time to plant or transplant rose bushes is in the spring. Dormant roses produce the best blossoms the first season if you plant them carefully. Remember to water the bushes for at least seven days, even if it rains. This is also the time of year to prepare soil for annual plants. Do not plant them until the danger of frost is over. Also, prepare soil for red potato seeds. Several places have potato seed in stock.

• Did you know: The first U.S. Census count was 1790; the first flight of LaConcorde was 1969; and Girl Scouts was founded 1912. These are a few history facts I thought would be great to know.
• Happy birthday to Duke Blackmon on March 8 and Lydney Smith and Sydney Sloan (my granddaughter) on March 14. I hope all of you have a great day and year.
• Remember to pray for our troops that are in harm’s way and pray for our country.
