Police searching for suspect in Gardendale jewelry store robbery

GARDENDALE — Gardendale Police are searching for a suspect in a robbery this week at Gardendale Jewelers.

On Tuesday between 11:50 and 11:54 a.m., an unknown white male entered Gardendale Jewelers and wanted to see some gold necklaces.

The victim opened a display case and laid a gold necklace on the case. The suspect wanted to see another necklace. The victim opened the display case and laid another gold necklace on the display case.

The suspect reportedly grabbed the necklaces off of the display case and told the victim, “See ya, bubba!”

The suspect then ran out of the front door of the business. The suspect was a white male, approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall, and weighing 140 pounds. The suspect appeared to be in his mid 20s with brown hair and a thin beard.

The suspect was wearing red knee-length sweat pant shorts and a white T-shirt with the sleeves cut out. The suspect had on what appears to be an Alabama flat bill ball cap and dark colored tennis shoes with white socks.

He also had on glasses and had a tattoo on his left shoulder.

The victim stated the suspect vehicle was a tan/brown/gold Toyota Camry with no tag. The victim also said the suspect had a hard time getting the vehicle started.
