A Pinson man was arrested last week on charges of child sex abuse.
Nicholas Carson McCloy, 30, was arrested Friday on charges of sexual abuse of a child less than 12, and sodomy first degree.
The abuse occurred over a two-year period, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim told her mother about the abuse in August 2012 after keeping it a secret for two years because the suspect reportedly threatened the child and her mother if the victim told anyone, according to the sheriff’s office.
Detectives presented the case to the Grand Jury through the Jefferson County District Attorney’s office in January.
McCloy posted $90,000 bond and was released.
