GARDENDALE — The long-awaited grand opening of the new Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant in the Gardendale City Center development comes Sunday morning, with free wings available for some very dedicated people.

The new restaurant will open its doors at 11 a.m., and the first 100 people lined up at the opening will receive free wings for a year — one order each week for 52 weeks.

To qualify for the giveaway, customers must take a place in line and stay there from the time of arrival — no tag-teams or placeholders.

The chain has been aiming for opening on before Monday, the day of the BCS National Championship football game between Alabama and Notre Dame.

Buffalo Wild Wings is a nationwide chain specializing in its namesake dish, with more than a dozen different flavors. The chain has more than 800 locations, and is headquartered in Minneapolis.
