NORTH JEFFERSON — Two brothers from Pinson are charged with robbing a local convenience store on Thursday afternoon.
Brian Matthew Peters, 34, and Jacob Ian Peters, 22, were arrested for first-degree robbery after an incident at a store at the corner of New Castle Road and Jackson Road. According to a statement from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, a store worker called them just before 2 p.m. to say that the store was been held up by two men, one wielding a baseball bat and the other a machete.
The men drove away in a gold pickup truck. The description of the men and the truck were broadcast to deputies in the area, who were already familiar with the truck and the men described.
Not long afterward, the deputies went to the men's home, where they found both of them. The brothers were identified as those who robbed the store, and were taken into custody.
Both men are held in the Jefferson County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bond. Jacob Peters is charged with an additional count of third-degree theft of property, which carries an additional $300 bond.
