Sports: Indians, Rockets in county finals. Gardendale and Pinson Valley will play each other in the Jefferson County Schools Baseball Championship on Monday night. The Rockets advanced with a 6-4 win over Hueytown, while the Indians needed 10 innings to beat Pleasant Grove 4-2. Mortimer Jordan and Corner also won lower-bracket games. The Blue Devils will play for fifth place this afternoon, while the Yellow Jackets take on Oak Grove for ninth… Softball: Katie Parr struck out eight hitters, and scored the only run as tenth-ranked Hayden defeated Cullman 1-0. Caitlin Kirkland had three hits and drove in Parr.
