Updated: Search in Locust Fork for missing 19-year-old to resume Friday

BLOUNT COUNTY — A search in Blount County for a missing 19-year-old has been called off and will resume Friday morning.

The Blount County Sheriff's Office is heading up a search for Allysa Huffstutler, 19. Crews are searching two areas on the Warrior River near Locust Fork, at Swan Bridge and King's Bend.

Huffstutler, a junior at the University of Alabama, was tubing in the river on Wednesday with friends when they hit some rapids and overturned. The others got out safely, but Huffstutler could not be found, according to the sheriff's office

Searchers looked through the night and all day Thursday.
