FULTONDALE —
A crowd turned out Tuesday for Fultondale’s annual National Night Out, which is meant to improve relationships between the community and fire and police personnel.
For the last few years, National Night Out was held in the parking lot beside Target, which partners with the city to host the event.
City officials decided this year to hold it at Black Creek Park in conjunction with the city’s weekly movie night.
“We had a much bigger turnout,” said Randy Posey, Fultondale city manager. “It was the most successful one we’ve put on so far.”
Target employees grilled 800 hot dogs, which they gave away for free. Also giving away food was Chick-fil-A and Firehouse Subs.
Skylar Wallace of Trussville entertained the crowd with her singing. There were also games and activities for children.
The Fultondale Fire Department set up a table to give away toy badges and fire helmets to children. The Fultondale Police Department was also on hand.
