Weather: North Jefferson will get a chance to dry out today, with little chance of rain. Temperatures today will clilmb into the upper 80s.
Traffic: ALDOT, starting at 9 a.m. today, will perform surveying on I-59 northbound and southbound, which will require moving operations lane closures in there area. Keep an eye out for lane changes and for workers.
Stepping down: Kimberly Mayor Craig Harris annouced Tuesday that he will be resigning his post on July 15. Harris and the town of Kimberly have been caught up in controversy over Harris’ place of residence, his taking advances on his paycheck and other matters.
Confederate solder recognized: On Saturday, the Sons of Cnfederate Veterans, Camp 84, Captain Mortimer Jordan Unit out of Gardendale will present a grave marker dedication for Arthur Malone Belcher. Belcher was born in 1833 and enlisted in the Confederate army in September 1862. He is buried at Friendship Community Church in Gardendale.
Auburn shooting: Accused shooter Desmonte Leonard turned himself in to law enforcement Tuesday night and is in the montgomery County Jail today. He is accused in a shooting in Auburn Saturday that killed three people and wounded three others.
