PINSON — The Pinson City Council met in a special session Tuesday night to consider the purchase of property, but then adjourned without taking action.
The council went into executive session for about half an hour, and had possible action on a property purchase listed on the official agenda. But after the council returned to open session, Mayor Hoyt Sanders immediately requested a motion to adjourn.
In one other business item, the council authorized Sanders to spend up to $12,000 to purchase an SUV for the city. Sanders said he was considering a 2008 Chevy Tahoe offered for sale by the city of Altoona for $11,250. The Tahoe would replace an SUV that was destroyed by a falling tree recently at the Turkey Creek Nature Preserve.
The council's next regularly scheduled meeting is Thursday, Sept. 5.
