PINSON — Some Pinson residents turned the tables on three teenagers who allegedly tried to rob houses in their neighborhood.
The residents on Mountain Laurel Drive spotted three men trying to break into a neighbor’s home, and confronted them. They held one suspect at gunpoint, while the other two fled into nearby woods, leaving their getaway car at the scene. The held suspect was carrying a gun plus keys belonging to the victim.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies caught the other suspects soon afterward.
One adult is charged with second-degree burglary as well as second-degree marijuana possession. Contrell Dreonte Howard, 19, is held in the county jail in lieu of $6,000 bond. Deputies said he was holding marijuana when caught.
Two juvenile suspects, ages 16 and 17, are charged with second-degree burglary and criminal mischief, and are lodged in the Jefferson County Youth Detention Facility.
