GARDENDALE — A Morris man has been transferred to the Jeferson County Jail after escaping briefly from the Gardendale City Jail.

He was arrested five minutes later, and was treated for cuts sustained from razor wire atop the enclosure's fencing.
Beasley, 28, was then charged with second-degree escape with bond set at $15,000, and was moved to the county lockup. The escape charge carries a possible sentence of up to 10 years plus as much as $15,000 in fines.
