NORTH JEFFERSON — Welcome to an overcast, but warmer, Thursday.

Weather: Today’s skies will be cloudy, but temperatures will be considerably warmer, with a high of 66. The low is 55, and there is onl a 10 percent chance of rain. However, rain is on the horizon for tomorrow.  


• The 53rd Annual Art on the Lake, at the Guntersville Rec Center, is proud to offer a great selection of paintings, sculpture, photography, needlecrafts, wood crafts, jewelry and more for sale on April 12 and 13, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Enjoy games and activities for the young and old, great food and home baked desserts. Admission is $2 for ages 13 and up; children under 12 accompanied by an adult are free. For more information visit

• The annual Harry Parker Memorial Rotary Charity Golf Tournament will be April 25 at Castle Pines. The proceeds will benefit many local Rotary projects including Cornerstone Ranch, Children’s Hospital, Gardendale High School Interact Scholarship and others. Entry fee for the tournament will be $80 which includes golf cart, lunch and many prizes. Hole sponsorship of green is $150. For information call Steve Garrett at 631-5862.

• Warrior Independent Church of God presents motorcycle Sunday April 27 hosted by Daystar Motorcycle Ministries in Jesus Chapter #2. Entrance fee is $20 per bike and covers trophy and lunch.
