Two killed, four injured in Gardendale wreck Saturday

GARDENDALE — Two men were killed in a head-on vehicle accident in Gardendale on Saturday, and four others were injured.

Micah Shane Wolford, 32, and Randy Kent Wolford, 56, of Warrior were killed in the collision, which happened just after 7 p.m. in the 6900 block of U.S. Hwy. 31 in Gardendale, according to the Gardendale Police Department.

A Ford F-150 driving northbound reportedly crossed the median and struck a Chevrolet Lumina on the southbound side of the highway.

Randy Kent Wolford was driving the Lumina and Micah Shane Wolford was the front seat passenger.

Two passengers in the back seat of the Lumina, a 33-year-old female from Gardendale and a juvenile, are both in UAB Hospital in critical but stable condition, according to Gardendale Police Lt. Bryan Lynch on Monday.

The driver of the pickup, a 20-year-old male from Morris, was transported to UAB Hospital and has been released. His passenger, a 19-year-old female from Morris, remains at UAB Hospital in stable condition.

The accident is still under investigation.
