FULTONDALE — The Fultondale City Council approved three business licenses, including one for a new grocery slated to open soon, during a short regular session Monday evening.
An application for the new Aldi grocery was approved unanimously. The store, located at the intersection of Walker Chapel Road and Morris Avenue, will be operated by a chain based in Germany. Aldi (short for “ALbrecht DIscount”) offers store-brand items at heavily-discounted prices.
Mayor Jim Lowery said that store officials hope to have an opening in the next few weeks.
The council also approved licenses for Alabama Decorating Center, Inc., to be located on Decatur Highway; and for Magic City VW, a shop which restores and customizes classic Volkswagen vehicles, to be located on Northwood Street.
