Good Wednesday morning, and – not that camel again, please...

Weather: Isolated rain possible. There's a 10 percent chance of widely scattered showers and thunderstorms today with a high in the middle 80s. Rain chances go away tonight with a low in the lower 60s. Mostly sunny and warm for Thursday.

What set off Aaron Alexis? A picture is developing of the shooter in the Washington Navy Yard incident. The owner of a Thai restaurant in Fort Worth, Texas where Alexis worked in exchange for room and board told NBC News that Alexis “felt slighted” as a veteran by the federal government, as was ready to leave the U.S. The network also reports in a separate story that Alexis rented an AR-15 automatic rifle and purchased a couple of dozen rounds of ammunition at a shooting range in Lorton, Va. two days before he shot and killed 12 people at a Navy facility on the south side of the nationa's captial.

Amber Alert issued. Police in suburban Atlanta have issued a nationwide alert for Ayvani Perez, 14, who was abducted by two armed robbers at her family's home in Ellenwood, Ga. In Clayton County. The robbers are described as two black males. For more information, see Google's Amber Alert page.

Sports: Stuck on magic number. The Braves still need a combination of four wins or Washington losses to clinch the National League East title, after the Nationals swept both ends of a day-night doubleheader on Tuesday. The Nats won the opener 6-5, in a game postponed because of the shooting at the nearby Navy Yard, then blanked the Braves 4-0 in the closer. Rookie Alex Wood takes the mound for tonight's game... Volleyball: Gardendale swept Hewitt-Trussville 35-11, 25-17, 25-17 in an area match Tuesday night, behind Cassie Snow's nine kills and five aces.
