Warrior council authorizes fire chief to bid on rescue truck

WARRIOR — The Warrior City Council has authorized Fire Chief Clay Neely to bid on a rescue truck at an online government-auction site.

The truck is currently up for bids on, a website specializing in sales to and from municipal, county and state governments. In Monday night’s regular session, the council gave Neeley authorization to bid up to $30,000 for the truck.

In other business, the council:

  • Tabled a request from ClasTran for a contribution of $2,571.10 to help cover the non-profit service’s costs of transporting senior citizens to and from medical appointments
  • Voted to renew the management contract by the Jefferson County Office of Senior Citizens Services for the Warrior Senior Center
  • Approved the purchase of a color computer printer for the Warrior Police Department.
