— A severe thunderstorm that moved through Blount County is now headed into the northeast part of Jefferson County.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning that includes Pinson on the western edge of the polygon area, as well as Clay, Trussville and Springville. It is in effect until 4:30 p.m.
A severe thunderstorm watch continues for all of north Alabama, including metro Birmingham, until 7 p.m.
A line of heavy storms, some of which have reached severe levels, was moving to the southeast through north Alabama as of 3:45 p.m.
NEXRAD radar also showed another line of storms moving from the Shoals area down into north Jefferson County. They have not been listed as severe.
Other pop-up storms have already occurred around Gardendale and Fultondale, bringing brief heavy rain and some thunder.
