Shooting death reported Tuesday night near Warrior

WARRIOR — A man has been shot and killed in an incident on Nail Road near Warrior, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is reporting.

Deputies responded to a call of a shooting at about 8 p.m. in the 2900 block of Nail Road. Sgt. Jack Self said that upon arrival, deputies found the body of a 46-year-old man in the backyard. He was pronounced dead.

Investigators believe that the victim was shot by his father-in-law, who is in custody. The circumstances of the shooting are still being investigated.

The identity of the victim and the suspect have ot been released yet.
