Benefit for JoJo Billingsly to be Saturday in Fultondale
The George McCorkle Foundation will host a benefit concert Saturday, 2-8 p.m., at Black Creek Park in Fultondale. Proceeds will go to JoJo Billingsly, who has cancer. Billingsly is pastor of a church in Cullman, according to Randy Posey, whose company, TMI Productions, is organizing the event. Performing at the concert will be Amanda Williams, Bruce Wall, Chris Hicks, Monica Perry, The Southern Boys, Donnie Winters, Lewis Ross and Blackland.
Council sets public hearing
Fultondale City Council voted Monday to change a public hearing date to June 28, 11:30 a.m., for noncompliance of an unsafe building at 1304 Lane Ave. The council also amended an ordinance that establishes the meeting times for Fultondale City Council. The council meets the second and fourth Monday of every month, 11:30 a.m., at Fultondale City Hall.
American Legion raises money for Teen Challenge
The American Legion Riders, of American Legion Post 255 in Fultondale, raised $800 for Alabama Teen Challenge Saturday during a benefit ride. Vice Commander Ron Slay said riders also donated three truck loads of clothes to Teen Challenge.
