No one injured in Friday house fire

GARDENDALE — There were no reported injuries at a house fire in Gardendale on Friday.

At about 10:45 a.m., two engines from the Gardendale Fire Department were dispatched to the 1500 block of Clover Avenue.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the eaves of the home. They forced entry through the front door and made an offensive attack on the fire.

The house received heavy fire damage to the kitchen and moderate heat and smoke damage to the remainder of the home.

The fire was called in by a neighbor.

The house was unoccupied at the time of the fire and there were no injuries reported to fire department personnel, according to Fire Marshal Rick Smith.

Smith investigated the origin and cause of the fire and determined it to be accidental.
